I, too, am German Project

How we began

 

The project was inspired by the event "100.000 Poets for Change" in 2014 in Munich. During the event, discrimination in German schools was a prominent discussion topic. For Violeta, the idea for the project was born. Two months after the event, Charisma joined the project. 

Our Work

 

"I, too, am German" is a documentary in the making. It takes a hard look at ethnic discrimination and segregation in German schools. A beautifully cinematic, character-driven film that gives a voice to immigrants struggling to break through the glass ceiling which separates them from a higher education and better-paid jobs. 

Our Goal

 

We believe that our documentary can trigger a dialogue, which will help pave the way towards better integration in German schools. As part of a larger campaign to raise awareness on discrimination, we are inviting German schools to screen the documentary, encouraging teachers, parents and their children to develop anti-discrimination strategies and improve communication.
